How it was made
The fabric is block printed first (chhapai), and the print is only a guide for the karigar. The embroidery is then done by hand, stitch by stitch (kadhai). After that the piece is washed to take the print off, so what stays is the thread.
Each piece takes 2 to 5 months to embroider, depending on the quality and the amount of work on it.
Care
Dry clean only.
